Casual Support Worker

Location: South of the river – Baldivis, Bertram, Brookdale, Canning Vale, Kenwick, Medina, Port Kennedy, Safety Bay, Samson, Spearwood, Thornlie and Waikiki

 What we require:

  • Demonstrated ability to assist people with personal care, living skills, transport and with meeting goals and needs
  • A practical general knowledge of a human rights based approach in the individual and community context.
  • Some experience and knowledge of the community sector, including contemporary issues, legislation and regulatory compliance (such as the National Standards for Disability Services, developments and opportunities and application of relevant standards.
  • Sound understanding of Mosaic’s vision and values
  • Ability to manage and support diverse individuals in a challenging environment
  • Experience of working within disability programs and/or services
  • Be client focused, professional, independent, highly motivated and resilient

OSH & Quality Assurance Officer

Mosaic is a contemporary and innovative disability service provider going through a significant period of growth and change. The new Executive Team is implementing many new initiatives and developing the organisation further. We are now seeking to recruit an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) & Quality Assurance Officer to join our expanding and diverse team.

The Role

Assisting the Executive Manager of Quality Assurance and Client Service Enhancement, the OSH & Quality Assurance Officer position plays a key role in all administration and operational matters relating to OSH & Quality Assurance. You must be passionate about keeping a quality, safe and healthy environment for people with disability, staff and visitors.  It is a great opportunity for someone wanting a career change such as moving into the not-for-profit disability sector.

Some of the duties and responsibilities include:-

  • Maintain, update and oversee all OSH State and Federal Legislation changes and ensuring all Policies & Procedures comply with these changes.
  • Support all matters relating to OSH and Quality Assurance.
  • Assist in coordinating rehabilitation and Return to Work strategies.
  • Coordinate development and implementation of Injury Management Systems.
  • Maintain and administer Quality Management Systems and processes.
  • Collaboratively collect, analyse and respond to data to enhance and improve within a continuous improvement framework.
  • Undertake risk assessments and development of safe work procedures and trainings for tasks and events.
  • Develop safety communications to prevent and minimise workplace incidents.
  • Monitor safety performance indicators and prepare analysis for reporting.
  • Assist to review and update health and safety policies, procedures and trainings.
  • Assist with coordinating the compilation of health and safety related trainings and presentations.
  • Maintain the systems and mechanisms that provide effective and reliable safeguards for people with disability.

What we require…

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in areas such as Risk Assessment and Management, Safeguarding, Workplace Inspections and Creation of Safe Operating Procedures.
  • Knowledge of human rights based approaches in disability.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Considerable analytical, conceptual and report writing skills.
